The T20 World Cup 2022 is in its last stage with the title decider between Pakistan and England yet to be delivered on Sunday, but this year's World Cup has been unpredictable for many big teams.

Many big teams faced an unexpected game and one of them was the Dutch team which just not encountered but also stunned the strong South African team bu defeating them.

Cricket player Bastiaan Franciscus Wilhelmus de Leede was the player to watch the tournament for the Netherlands in T20 World Cup. Son of former player Tim de Leede who represented the Netherlands in 29 ODIs, De Leede showed indomitable courage in the tournament despite being hit in the face by Pakistan's Haris Rauf.

De Leede played the next game with stitches on his face. Overall this Dutch all-rounder grabbed the attention of the cricketing fraternity. In 8 matches Bas grabbed 13 wickets and finished his campaign with the second-highest wicket-taker of the mega event and he also scored 93 runs.

On November 29, 2017, in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Namibia, he made his first-class debut for the Netherlands.

On September 29, 2017, while the Netherlands was on a tour of Zimbabwe, he made his List A debut for the Royal Netherlands Cricket Board XI (KNCB XI).

After Stephan Myburgh's injury forced him to withdraw from the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, he was included in the Netherlands team in February 2018. He was included in the Twenty20 International (T20I) team for the 2018 Netherlands Tri-Nation Series in June 2018.
