Yuzvendra Singh Chahal is India's one of the most lethal leg spin bowlers at the current time. Chahal was Born on 23 July 1990 in Jind, Haryana. At the age of seven Chahal got passionate about chess and cricket, but he chose Chess as his option.
He played chess for India at the World Youth Chess Championship, but later when he didn't get any sponsor, he gave up the game and from there, his journey in cricket started.
During his initial time, he tried his hands as a medium-fast bowler but wasn't able to find the grip in pace bowling, and then he turned into a leg spinner. He became the only player to represent India in both chess and cricket.
Chahal with his instinctive leg spin got a place in the Haryana Ranji team in 2009. He played his first-class debut against Madhya Pradesh but didn't perform well. The attacking leg spinner first attracted attention in Under-19 Cooch Bihar Trophy in 2009, where he registered 34 wickets and grasped selectors' attention.
Sooner due to his consistent first-class performances Chahal got a bid in the 2011 IPL where he got picked by Mumbai Indians but didn't get the chance to play a single match in that season.
It was in the Champions League that he was given an opportunity to feature in the playing XI in all the matches and played an important role in Mumbai's win in the final after talking 2/9 in three overs. It indeed was a breakthrough for the talented leg spinner as he was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, for whom he played as a core bowler for 6 years. In 2022 he got a new bidder in the IPL Mega Auctions where Rajasthan Royals included him in the squad.
Chahal became nourished after playing so much first-class cricket and his hard work paid him off when in 2016, he was selected to the Indian Cricket Team in a 14-man squad for the tour of Zimbabwe. He made his international debut against Zimbabwe on 11 June 2016. He also made his T20 debut against the same team.
On 1 February 2017, playing against England, he became the first Indian bowler to take a 5-wicket haul in a T20 match. In the Sri Lanka series, after a strong determination, Chahal put himself in line for consideration if the selectors decide that a wrist spinner would be the best option for India's preparations for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
On December 22, 2020, when the world was suffering from COVID-19, Chahal decided to start his new inning of life, when he got married to the YouTuber, dancer Dhanashree Verma.
During India vs Australia series in December 2020 an instance happened in the first T20I match when Ravindra Jadeja got injured. According to the newly added rule of concussion substitution, Chahal was added to the team as Jadeja's replacement. He just not only took a four-wicket match-winning haul but also received the man of the match award, making history as the first concussion replacement to do so in a match of international cricket.
Yuzvendra Chahal is undoubtedly India's best and one of the finest wrist spinners in world cricket currently. Cricketnmore wishes him a very Happy Birthday and the brightest future ahead
