    NorthEast United FC: Alaaeddine Ajaraie scored a brace of goals for NorthEast United FC but Isak Vanlalruatfela struck an injury-time equaliser as Odisha FC held on for a 2-2 draw in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at the Kalinga Stadium her on Monday, spoiling the party for the by overcoming a goal deficit twice.

    A record-breaking brace from Ajaraie was not enough for the Highlanders as Thoiba Singh and Vanlalruatfela scored timely strikes to salvage a point from the clash. With this result, NorthEast United FC have dropped 17 points this season from winning positions. Despite the draw, a brace from Ajaraie meant that he has scored 18 goals this season, matching the highest individual goals tally in an ISL season of Ferran Corominas (2017-18) and Bartholomew Ogbeche (2021-22).

    A game that started as a slow burner, gradually picked up the pace just after the first quarter when Odisha FC had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Diego Mauricio maneuvered his way into the box before laying it on a plate for Jerry Mawihmingthanga. However, the winger missed an absolute sitter as he failed to make the right connection in front of a gaping goal.
