Anil Kumble: गौतम गंभीर ने भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के हेड कोच के तौर पर राहुल द्रविड़ को रिप्लेस किया है। गंभीर भारत के शानदार बल्लेबाज रह चुके हैं जिन्होंने 58 टेस्ट, 147 वनडे और 37 टी20 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैच खेले। गंभीर ने अपने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय करियर में 10,000 हजार से ज्यादा रन बनाए, जिसमें 20 शतक भी शामिल हैं। भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के पास हेड कोच के तौर पर ऐसे नाम भी रहे हैं जिनका टीम इंडिया करियर गंभीर से बेहतरीन रहा है।
इसमें अनिल कुंबले का नाम प्रमुखता से लिया जा सकता है जो 132 टेस्ट मैचों में 619 विकेट लेकर आज भी भारत के सर्वाधिक विकेट लेने वाले गेंदबाज हैं। कुंबले ने 2016-17 में भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के हेड कोच के पद पर कार्य किया था। कुंबले के नाम 271 वनडे मैचों में 337 विकेट भी हैं।
भारत के महानतम ऑलराउंडर और 1983 के विश्व कप विजेता कप्तान कपिल देव ने अक्टूबर 1999 से अगस्त 2000 तक 10 महीनों के लिए भारतीय टीम के हेड कोच की भूमिका निभाई थी। कपिल देव भारत के सर्वाधिक टेस्ट विकेट लेने वाले तेज गेंदबाज हैं, जिनके नाम 434 विकेट हैं। उन्होंने वनडे में भी 235 विकेट हासिल किए हैं। गेंदबाजी के अलावा कपिल ने बल्लेबाजी में भी कमाल किया है और टेस्ट मैचों में 5,248 रन बनाने के अलावा वनडे में भी 3,500 रन बनाए हैं।
