भारतीय महिला टीम ने एशिया रग्बी सेवंस ट्रॉफी में जीता रजत पदक
भारतीय महिला टीम फाइनल में फिलीपींस से मामूली अंतर से हार गई। शिखा यादव की अगुवाई में, भारतीय रग्बी महिला टीम ने शानदार खेल दिखाया लेकिन 7-5 के स्कोर के साथ फाइनल में मामूली अंतर से हार गई।
भारतीय रग्बी फुटबॉल संघ के अध्यक्ष राहुल बोस ने कहा, "जबकि टीम इस तरह के करीबी मुकाबले के बाद, इस संस्करण में स्वर्ण नहीं जीत पाने से निराश है, लेकिन जिस तरह से उन्होंने शानदार, बिना किसी रोक-टोक के सेवंस रग्बी खेला, उससे वे अपना सिर ऊंचा रख सकते हैं। रजत पदक हमारी राष्ट्रीय महिला टीम के लिए एक सराहनीय परिणाम है। जबकि रग्बी इंडिया लगातार रजत को स्वर्ण में बदलने और एशिया की शीर्ष टीमों में अपना नाम दर्ज कराने का प्रयास करेगी, लगातार चार रजत पदक जीतना पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र की स्थिरता और क्षमता का प्रमाण है।"
