नूपुर ने सेमीफाइनल मुकाबले में शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए तुर्की की सेमा दुस्ताज को 5:0 से हराकर महिलाओं के 80 किग्रा वर्ग के फाइनल में जगह पक्की की। इससे पहले दिन में, अविनाश जामवाल ने पुरुषों के 65 किग्रा वर्ग में यूएसए के रेने कैमाचो को सर्वसम्मत निर्णय से हराकर अंतिम चार में प्रवेश किया और अपने लिए पदक पक्का किया।
नीरज फोगाट (65 किग्रा) और अनामिका (51 किग्रा) का अभियान क्वार्टर फाइनल में समाप्त हो गया। नीरज ने बेहतरीन तरीके से अपना मैच खेला लेकिन विभाजित निर्णय में 3:2 से हार गए।
