विश्व मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनशिप में भारत का अभियान जीत के साथ शुरुआत हुआ है। ब्रिटेन के लिवरपूल में पुरुषों की 55 किलोग्राम भारवर्ग में पवन बर्तवाल ने पेरिस ओलंपियन ब्राजील के माइकल डगलस ट्रिनडेड को हराया।
पवन बर्तवाल ने तीसरे और अंतिम राउंड में दबाव में अपने कौशल का प्रदर्शन करते हुए ब्राजीलियाई प्रतिद्वंद्वी को कड़ी टक्कर दी और पहला राउंड 3:2 से जीत लिया।
