T20 World Cup: पाकिस्तान के पूर्व विकेटकीपर-बल्लेबाज राशिद लतीफ़ ने आईसीसी आयोजनों में भारत-पाकिस्तान के मैचों पर अपनी राय दी, जो अब तटस्थ स्थानों पर खेले जाएंगे और कहा कि ऐसा समझौता 2017 चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के बाद किया जाना चाहिए था। उन्होंने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि आईसीसी एक ऐसे फॉर्मूले पर काम कर रहा है, जिससे दोनों देशों को फ़ायदा होगा।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद के कार्यकारी बोर्ड ने गुरुवार को पुष्टि की कि 2027 तक आने वाले आईसीसी आयोजनों में भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच मैच, जिसमें अगले साल की चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2025 भी शामिल है, तटस्थ स्थानों पर खेले जाएंगे।
लतीफ ने आईएएनएस से कहा, "आईसीसी के नियमों के अनुसार यह समझौता 2017 चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के बाद होना चाहिए था, क्योंकि पाकिस्तान ने 2016 में भारत का दौरा किया था। 2023 में पाकिस्तान ने भारत का दौरा किया और वनडे विश्व कप में भी खेला। हम चाहते हैं कि पाकिस्तान और भारत दोनों एक-दूसरे के देशों में जाकर खेलें। 2023 एशिया कप बाहर आयोजित किया गया था और हम मूल रूप से एक-दूसरे के साथ खेलने से बच रहे हैं। पाकिस्तान पहले ही दो बार भारत का दौरा कर चुका है, इसलिए पाकिस्तान के लोगों को लगा कि भारत को आना चाहिए था।"
