1) Kishan was born in Nawada, Bihar to Pranav Kumar Pandey, who is in the construction business.

2) From his early days, Ishan got support from his family, especially his brother, to play and pursue cricket. 

3) Young Ishan was never interested in studies and was irregular in attending classes. His school, DPS, asked him to leave, which he unhesitantly did. 

4) When BCCI had a dispute with Bihar Cricket Association, Ishan Kishan's coach, Santosh Kumar, advised him to move to Jharkhand at the age of 15. 

5) 17-year-old Ishan Kishan was involved in a road accident just before the Indian team had to depart to Bangladesh for the Under-19 World Cup. Ishan was booked for reckless driving and hitting a rickshaw. 

6) He captained India to the final of the under-19 World Cup in 2016. 

7) The wicket-keeper batter idolizes MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist but is also a massive Sachin Tendulkar fan. When Ishan first met Tendulkar - he froze - before Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma encouraged him to talk to the Indian legend. 

8) In February 2021, Kishan smashed 173 to power Jharkhand to 422/9 in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game. In the same match, Ishan took the most catches as a wicketkeeper - 7, in a List-A game. 

9) In 2016, the left-hander scored 273 against Delhi in a Ranji Trophy match. This was the highest score by a Jharkhand batter in the tournament. 

10) Ishan Kishan has so far played 73 List-A matches, in which he has scored 2507 runs, including four centuries. In 44 First-Class matches, the 22-year-old has made 2665 runs.
