तमीम इकबाल (Tamim Iqbal Retirement) ने इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट से संन्यास की घोषणा कर दी है। यह दूसरी बार है जब बांग्लादेश के दिग्गज खिलाड़ी ने संन्यास लिया है, इससे पहले उन्होंने जुलाई 2023 में ऐसा किया था, लेकिन बांग्लादेश की तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना के हस्तक्षेप के बाद 24 घंटे में ही अपना फैसला बदल लिया था ।
तमीम ने गुरुवार को सिलहट में बांग्लादेश सिलेक्टर्स को इसकी जानकारी दी। गाजी अशरफ हुसैन की अगुआई वाली सिलेक्शन कमेटी ने उन्हें चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के लिए बांग्लादेश टीम में वापस आने को कहा था। तमीम ने कथित तौर पर तब उनसे कहा था कि वह संन्यास लेने के अपने फैसले पर कायम रहेंगे, लेकिन कप्तान नजमुल हुसैन शांतो सहित कुछ बांग्लादेशी खिलाड़ियों ने उनसे दोबारा विचार करने का अनुरोध किया, जिसके बाद उन्होंने एक दिन और समय लिया।
