Hosts India has a superb record against England in Chennai. During the tour, England is to play the opening two Tests at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The first Test will be played from 5th to 9th February, while the second Test is from 13th to 17th February.
India and England have played nine Test matches so far at Chennai's M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Hosts India has won five, while England has won three. The match played in 1982 between the two teams resulted in a draw.
India last played against England at Chepauk in 2016, when the hosts thumped the visitors by an innings and 75 runs. In that match, Karun Nair became the second Indian batsman to score a triple hundred after Virender Sehwag.
